Approach

Chloe employs an integrative, collaborative, strength-based approach rooted in empirically-supported therapies.

What is it like to work with Chloe?

I aim to create a warm, genuine, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe being vulnerable and expressing themselves.  I take an active approach, meaning that I won’t refuse to speak or simply ask you: “how does that make you feel?” I balance creating a supportive environment with also challenging clients to identify factors interfering with their quality of life and to ultimately meet their goals. While therapy can involve discomfort, as someone who is playful and finds humor in life, I often bring laughter and curiosity to the therapy room.

Everyone has had unique life experiences and holds different cultural identities. As such, I tailor therapy to meet clients’ specific goals and am attentive to clients’ unique contextual and cultural factors. I welcome all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and cultures.

What is Chloe’s theoretical approach?

Since I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy, I take an integrative approach, drawing from the following theoretical orientations and empirically-supported therapies:

  • Humanistic/ Existential

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Overarching Values

Regardless of the focus of therapy, I approach my work with several overarching values:

·    All humans have the capacity to grow and change.

·    All humans have right to develop a fulfilling life.

·    All humans are worthy of love and self-compassion.

·    Humans develop within the context of relationships and healing can take place within our relationships, including the therapeutic relationship.

·    In addition to symptom reduction, therapy should foster empowerment and build upon strengths.
